A form will be sent home to parents at the beginning of each year. All staff will be made aware of the identities of these students, and their photos and medical information will be kept in a folder in the first aid area, yard duty folders and CRT folders.  Photos of these children, along with their room number and teacher, will be displayed on a wall in the first aid area.  Specific medical information will NOT be on display, but will be recorded in a special folder in the first aid area.  Medical alert stickers are to be placed on the CRT folders of classes containing a child medically at risk, and the office staff will verbally advise the CRT of the relevant child or children.

Dear Parents,

We are currently reviewing and improving our First Aid procedures and policy at Grey Street Primary School.

We have also employed a qualified nurse, Julie Hunt, to staff the first aid area during lunch times.  As part of her role, Mrs Hunt will be administering medication, where practical, to students who receive medication on a regular basis during school hours.  All medication given will be recorded on a form in the first aid area.

Due to these changes, we are asking you to complete the following form and return it to school as soon as possible.

As Mrs Hunt is also a member of our parent community, if you have any concerns about confidentiality please see our principal, Nerissa Albon.

If you have any other concerns about changes to our first aid procedures please feel free to discuss these with myself, Nerissa or your child’s teacher.

Thankyou for your assistance,
