“Queenie : one elephant’s story”

This new book is about an old, but true story. The illustrations were very colourful. It was an interesting story. It was cruel when the kids were teasing her and sticking pins into her trunk. Kids can be really cruel, especially to animals. It was funny when she got dirty water and squirted it at the naughty kids. The ending was very sad. It was a good story but sad.

The story was pretty sad when she was no longer allowed to carry people. It was sad when she had to get destroyed even though they thought it was an accident. It was cruel when the kids were teasing her with fruit and sticking pins into her trunk. It was funny when Queenie got dirty water to squirt at the kids. It was a good book because it brings back memories of a true story.

This is a true story about Queenie the gentle elephant. Queenie came from India and was taken to Melbourne Zoo. People liked to ride on Queenie and feed her apples and peanuts.

The book had a sad ending but it was interesting, funny and enjoyable to read.
